Fast Shutdown, Restart, Hibernate

Fast Shutdown, Restart, Hibernate in Windows XP and Vista

Process Shutdown, Restart and Hibernate is an important process that is often used by Windows users. There are various ways to do that, but if you talk the fastest way then inevitably, always can not be separated from how so-called keyboard shortcuts. PCWorld editor, Lincoln Spector, will reveal the shortcut shortcuts.

In Windows XP, the shortcut to perform those functions is quite simple and involves the Windows key in combination with other keystrokes:
- Shutdown: Press the Win key, then the U key and U.
- Restart: Press the Windows key, then the U and R.
- Stand by: Press the Windows key, then the U key and S.
- Hibernate: Press the Windows key, then the U key and H.
For Windows Vista is not the same as the one on XP, a little more complicated and more emphasis on the button. But still the same using Windows key combination with other keys:
- Sleep: Press the Windows button, right arrow and then Enter.
- Shutdown: Press the Windows key, then the right arrow button three times and then the Enter key or the U.
- Restart: Press the Windows key, then right Arrow button three times and then the R key
- Hibernate: Click the Windows button, then the right arrow button three times and then key H.
In addition there is another way to enter commands in combination with Windows keys:
- Shutdown: Press the Win key, then type shutdown-st 0 (note the space before -, t, and 0) and end by pressing Enter.
- Restart: Press the Win key, then type shutdown-rt 0 and terminated by pressing Enter.
- Hibernate: Press the Win key, then type shutdown-h and terminated by pressing Enter.
